CH. 28 Assessment

1. To counteract fears about consumer privacy in regard to use of their information in the marketing information system, companies should make their surveys anonymous and less personal. The questions should not ask about names, addresses, or other personal info. They should also should not ask question about income or employment as they are also seen as personal by some people. They should keep the collected data in a secure database  so that the data an info can not be tampered with in anyway

3. Coin operated car wash companies should do both marketing, media, product, test and attitude research . By doing this kind of research the companies can find out whether or not there is a demand for the car washes as well as the opinions of the consumers who use the car wash. Using this research would really help a company greatly improve themselves.

4. Marketing researchers are always concerned about the lifestyles and attitudes of their consumers because they can be major factors in whether or not they buy from the company. If the attitude research and market research shows that the consumers like to surf and hang by the beach and the company only sells winter sports gear, the consumers are not likely to shop there for their needs.

5.Marketing Research would show size able differences in the lifestyles of dual income families with kids and dual families without kids. The families without kids likely have more money saved as they aren't actively spending on children. They are probably not as big as a consumer. A family with kids are probably a more active consumer as they spend constantly on their kids. They need to buy them clothes, toys, haircuts, school supplies, etc. Knowing the lifestyles, it would be smart of a company to focus on families with children as the target market

                                                      Protesting in The NFL

Article

Protesting has been one of the most controversial issues in the NFL this year. Multiple players have been kneeling during the National Anthem. Everyone from Obama to Trump has had their own view or opinion on the issue. Some even blame it for the decline in NFL ratings this year. It will be interesting to see how the league handles this difficult situation. I for one support the protests. I don't believe that the protesting is the sole cause of the NFL's ratings decline. There are other factors such as in the games being watched on tablets and phones rather than TVs. The officiating has been mediocre and the game has been over saturated by having games on Monday and Thursday. Roger Goodell is an incompetent Commissioner he needs to be replaced.

Rock Survey Reflection

My Survey was a crazy infusion of lots of different music interests. I got 14 responses. Which was more than I expected. I thought I wouldn't get more than 3. The data showed that 42.9% of the respondents were in 10th Grade, 28.6% were in 12th Grade, 21.4% were in 11th Grade, and only 7.1 % were in 9th Grade. 64.3% were male and 35.7% were female. With 28.6%, The Beatles were the most picked favorite band. More people had a favorite album that was not on the list leading to Other leading with 28.6% of selections. Ringo Starr was the respondents favorite drummer with a 35.7% percent of the selections. Mike Dirnt was the class's favorite Bassist with 28.6% of the picks. Jimi Hendrix earned the selection of favorite Lead Guitarist being selected 38.5% of the time. John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, and Freddie Mercury landed in a three way tie for favorite lead singer, garnering 21.4% each. The open question of the respondents opinon on today's music was mixed with some either hating or liking. As you can see this was a pretty crazy survey. I liked creating it and seeing how my peers responded. I hope to do another one like it in the future.

Fads

Every year there is some sort of fad going that is largely popular. I remember a specific fad from back in 4th and 5th grade which was a thing known as Silly Bandz. Silly Bandz were basically elastic bands that were in different colors and were in all different shapes. There were animals, objects, numbers and letters. They came in a packs of 24 at $5.49 per pack. We would trade all the shapes with each other. We would wear all the bands on our arms. However its appeal slowly waned and by mid 2011 nobody really wore them except for those who didn't realize its popularity had past. To this day nobody I know even talks about them anymore, let alone do they remember it. I only remembered them because I had to do this assignment on fads and they were the first to pop into my head. Silly Bandz are my generation's version of the pet rock. Will Silly Bands rise again someday but I doubt it. But who knows. Anything can happen.Image result for silly bandz

Blog #1

Throughout my life I have played with many toys. Here are 5 of my favorite. First up is a Buzz Lightyear action figure. Toy Story is one of my favorite movies of all time I use love playing with all the characters from the movie. Number 2 is a Lightsaber from Star Wars. Me and my friends used to have the most epic lightsaber duels known to man. Number 3 is an Optimus Prime transformer action figure. I have a huge collection of transformers. Its definitely more than meets the eye (wink wink). Number 4 is a toy model of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation. I am a huge trekkie and this ship is my favorite starship from the entire franchise. From its Saucer to its Nacelles it is a true beauty to behold. And number 5 are my old Power Ranger action figures. I was a big fan of Power Rangers growing up, my favorite series were Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Power Rangers Ninja Storm. Moving on I also am looking froward to these 5 up coming TV series. 1. Star Trek: Discovery 2. MacGyver 3.Lethal Weapon 4.Time after Time 5.Designated Survivor
Even though I absololutley hate the Color Rush uniforms here are the ones I kinda like. 1. New England 2.Steelers 3.Raiders 4.Eagles 5.Ravens

My TV show selections may not be that good as I don't watch alot of TV nor am I interested in alot of TV. Too much of it is filled with Reality TV junk. I honestly don't understand the point of the Color Rush uniforms. They do not even seem that cool or needed. They just seem like a another way to take money out of people's pockets. Not mention last years version of the uniform caused controversy as the colorblind community was unable to distinguish the colors of the jerseys. That is poor marketing at its finest.
